            Return your reading slips daily.

Three times per year Room 7 has a "store". Students add up the points that they have earned over the past grading period for following the Principles to Live By. These points are then used to purchase items from the store. The store is stocked with inexpensive items, donated items or recycled items that may appeal to elementary school children. Sometimes students purchase items as gifts for family members. Donations are always welcome.

Mrs. Virden:

I earned my Master's degree in Special Education from Western Oregon University. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology from Portland State University. I have enjoyed teaching at McKinley for the past ten years. My passion is bird watching.

Mrs. Wall:

This is my 23rd year teaching at McKinley! The years have really flown by. I started at McKinley assisting in Kindergarten. When my daughter became a Kindergartener, it was time for me to make a change. I was able to move over  into the LRC assistant position and have been here ever since. I have had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Virden a total of 10 years.  While teaching is my primary passion, I also enjoy cooking, walking and playing golf.
